The Kailash Mansarovar Yatra was suspended from 2020. The reason for this was the pandemic COVID-19. Now, with the reduction of the coronavirus, the government has reached an agreement with China and has resumed this yatra. Additionally, both countries will resume their air services. This decision was made during two days of talks at the level of foreign secretaries. To facilitate these discussions, India's Foreign Secretary Vikram Misri visited Beijing.

Despite the improvement in the COVID-19 situation, there was no progress towards resuming the yatra due to tensions between the two countries. However, discussions were held in accordance with an understanding reached between Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi and Chinese President Xi Jinping at a meeting in Kazan, Russia, in October. Both sides reviewed the state of bilateral relations and agreed to take necessary steps to stabilize and restore relations.

Now, both countries have decided to revive the yatra and resume air services. Officials from both sides will soon meet to set up the necessary framework for the implementation of these decisions. This decision is expected to lead to better relations between India and China. The people of both countries view the resumption of this yatra as a great spiritual opportunity.
